01 — Eye of Horus Glyphs Distressed Dad Hat

Egyptians used the Eye of Horus to measure, heal, and restore—so the symbol wasn’t mystical alone; it was applied knowledge turned into protection.

The Eye of Horus glyph surrounded by supporting symbols in black line art.

Protection. Sight. The watcher behind the world.

The Eye of Horus is one of the oldest protection symbols on the planet—meant to guard the wearer, sharpen perception, and keep unseen things in check.

My version isn’t a reconstruction; it’s a reinterpretation. The central eye is the anchor, and the surrounding glyphs shift the reading toward awareness, signal, and direction.

The glyphs form a perimeter—an intentional boundary. They create a closed system, almost a shield, so the hat reads as a protective mark rather than an ornamental motif.

The tears make it feel inherited rather than purchased—like it’s already lived one life before reaching you.

The embroidery locks it in place—thread as a kind of permanence, the opposite of disposable print.
